NEWARK – The New Jersey Devils could be sold within the next few days, according to a Star-Ledger report.
The team, which may need to rely on new investors to meet its August payroll, is reportedly of interest to Philadelphia attorney Andrew Barroway and Philadelphia 76ers owner Josh Harris, among others.
Bankruptcy or an NHL takeover of the team are unlikely, according to the Star-Ledger report, but the league could provide financial assistance to allow current owner Jeff Vanderbeek more time to find a buyer.
