Highland Park To Take Part In National Night Out

HIGHLAND PARK — In 1984, police departments throughout the nation wanted to show people how to have fun – safely. They created a special program, National Night Out, to entertain their communities in a secure environment. This year marks the 30th Anniversary of this popular program, and the Highland Park Police Department is participating once again.

On Tuesday, Aug. 6, the Highland Park Police invite you to join them to celebrate National Night Out, America’s Night Out Against Crime. The event will be held from 5 – 9 p.m., on North 3rd and Raritan Avenue.

Come out for music, food, and fun activities for the whole family, in addition to free raffles and giveaways! Visit the Public Safety Booth and pick up some important safety tips while you enjoy the night. There will also be an antique and race car display, with a unique variety of automobiles.

Noah’s Ark Academy is collecting nonperishable food items for donation to the Highland Park Food Bank. Bring the items to their booth, and get a free lemonade while you’re there.

The rain date for National Night Out is Thursday, Aug. 8. For more information, contact Gary Panichella at 732-572-3800 ext 4212.
