NEWARK — The Essex Vicinage will hold an expungement seminar on Thursday, Aug. 8 from 5:30 to 7:15 p.m. at the J. Harry Smith Lecture Hall at Essex County College, 303 University Ave., Newark. Admission is free.
Representatives from the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office, Essex-Newark Legal Services, Newark Reentry Legal Services, and the Judiciary will conduct the seminar.
Topics will include the process for expunging a criminal and/or juvenile record, the types of records that can be expunged, the time requirements for an expungement, filing for an expungement, and what happens after an expungement is granted.
A Spanish interpreter will be available. If additional interpreting services are required, contact the Information and Community Relations Center at 973-693-5774.
