Perth Amboy Police Arrest 3 Alleged Heroin Dealers

PERTH AMBOY – Police investigating complaints of drug dealing on the 500 block of Harrington Street arrested four people and seized $3,000 worth of drugs, more than $4,000 in cash and a military grade flak jacket on Wednesday.

Members of the Perth Amboy Police Department’s Special Investigations Bureau executed a superior court search warrant at a residence on the 500 block of Harrington Street. As a result of the raid, Erick Ascar, 33, Bianca Fontanez, 22, Glen O’Brien, 30 all residents of the property, and Neil Deriggi, 34 of Metuchen, were arrested. Police seized 280 decks of heroin, 12 methadone pills, several other prescription pills,a military grade flak jacket, and $4,220 in currency during the search.

Ascar, Fontanez, and O’Brien were charged with possession of heroin, possession with the intent to distribute, possession of a prohibited device (body armor), possession of prescription pills, and possession of narcotic paraphernalia. Judge Emery Z. Toth set bail at $75,000 with no 10 percent option for Ascar, and $50,000 with no 10 percent option for Fontanez and O’Brien.

Deriggi was charged with possession of heroin and several outstanding warrants for his arrest. Toth set his bail at $25,000 with no 10 percent option.

Detective Mohamed Mohamed led the investigation.

The charges against the suspects are merely accusations; they are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
