WEST WINDSOR – Congressman Rush Holt and six other leading intellectuals will participate in an online streaming event on Tuesday to discuss some of the leading issues facing America and the rest of the world.
The panelists who are scheduled to participate in “Geek Out Live! With Rush Holt” are former U.S. Secretary of Energy Steven Chu, winner of the 1997 Nobel Prize in Physics; Dr. Bonnie Bassler, chair of the Molecular Biology Department at Princeton University; Dr. Emily Carter, Princeton University Gerhard R. Andlinger Professor in Energy and the Environment Professor of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering & Applied and Computational Mathematics; Carnegie Institution President Richard Meserve; Dr. Carol Mason, Professor of Pathology and Cell Biology, Neuroscience, and Ophthalmic Science; and Dr. Philip J. Kellman, director of the Human Perception Laboratory at UCLA.
Holt, a Democrat representing New Jersey’s 12th Congressional District, is a former professor of public policy and physics. He is one of two members of Congress to appear as a contestant of the television game show Jeopardy. Holt is one of four candidates seeking the Democratic nomination to run for the remainder of the late U.S. Sen. Frank Lautenberg’s term in a special primary election on Aug. 13.
