CLARK – The Clark Police Benevolent Association Local #125 will host its first National Night Out event at Clark Police Headquarters on Saturday afternoon, Aug. 3, from noon-5 p.m.
National Night Out is an annual community-police awareness raising event, sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch, that began in 1984.
“National Night Out is a great crime prevention tool that encourages you and your neighbors to get together,” said Clark PBA #125 Delegate Brian Soos. “When neighbors know each other and pay attention to their surroundings, they are more likely to recognize and report suspicious vehicles to law enforcement. They more you know about your neighborhood, the more you can do to keep it safe.”
The free event is open to all Clark residents and their families; there will be hot dogs, Italian ice and other refreshments, and Clark Police officers will be on hand to tell residents how to safeguard their homes and neighborhoods.
“Please come out and enjoy this event with family and friends,” Soos said, “and the members of the Clark Police Department look forward to seeing you on the third.”
