WOODBRIDGE- Continuing from last week, some more memories of Maple Hill Dairy from George Housman: “Years later, my parents moved to Ohio to be near my sister. While cleaning their home I came across one of those bottles, kept it for my memories and still have it today.
“Since then I had searched for one to give to my sister. I can’t wait to give it to her when I visit her in July. She doesn’t have the onsite memories that I have of the place, but it will be something more that she and I can share that will always remind us of our dad.
“I can’t tell you how excited Gail and I were when you contacted her about someone who had one of those elusive bottles. When you put us in touch with Lori we wondered who she was and how she would come to have a bottle from Maple Hill. It turns out we are practically neighbors. Lori found the bottle while cleaning out her grandmother’s house just one town over from ours. It’s entirely possible my father could have delivered that bottle to her grandmother’s house. She said she was happy that it will be going to a good home and help us remember good times from the past.
“I didn’t tell my sister about it. We will wait and surprise her when we visit her this summer. I know she will be thrilled to finally have one of her own. She has mentioned not having one several times over the years.
“I promised Lori and I will promise you, the first opportunity I get I will pay it forward. I appreciate you having your article available to us and for your efforts making this happen. Thank you.”
George and Gail, I am happy my column was able to help you and thank you to Lori!
