STATE — Tuesday, July 23, is the last day New Jersey residents may register to vote and be eligible to cast a ballot in the Aug. 13 U.S. Senate Special Primary Election.
U.S. Reps. Rush Holt and Frank Pallone, Assembly Speaker Sheila Oliver and Newark Mayor Cory Booker are seeking the Democratic nomination to run for the remainder of the late U.S. Sen. Frank Lautenberg’s term, while former Bogota Mayor Steve Lonegan and Piscataway medical doctor Alieta Eck are running in the Republican primary.
To register to vote or to register an address change, forms are available in every municipality at the office of the municipal clerk. Forms also may be obtained by visiting your County Clerk’s office.
To qualify to vote, you must be a citizen of the United States and at least 18 years old, not serving a sentence, probation, or parole because of a felony conviction, and a resident of New Jersey and the county where you are registered for at least 30 days.
Union County residents:
The Union County Clerk’s office is located at 2 Broad Street in Elizabeth, and there is an annex at 300 North Avenue East in Westfield. The office hours of the Westfield Annex of the County Clerk are 8 a.m. – 7:30 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays; 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays; and 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. on Saturdays. Regular office hours in Elizabeth are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Forms may also be obtained by visiting the Union County website: www.ucnj.org/voter-registration.
Voter registration forms and change of address forms must be received by the Union County Board of Elections, 271 North Broad Street, Elizabeth NJ 07208 no later than Tuesday, July 23, in order to be eligible to vote in the Special U.S. Senate Primary Election on August 13.

The Middlesex County Clerk’s office is located at 75 Bayard Street in New Brunswick, and it is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. – 4:15 p.m. Forms may also be obtained from the Middlesex County website: http://www.co.middlesex.nj.us/elections/voterforms.asp
Voter registration forms and change of address forms must be received by the Middlesex County Board of Elections, 777 Jersey Avenue, New Brunswick, NJ 08901, no later than Tuesday, July 23, in order to be eligible to vote in the Special U.S. Senate Primary Election on August 13.
