EAST BRUNSWICK — Playhouse 22, East Brunswick’s Community Theater, will hold open auditions for Monty Python’s Spamalot at 7:30 pm on Sunday, Aug. 11, Monday, Aug. 12, and Tuesday, Aug. 13, with callbacks on Thursday, Aug. 15.

The show dates are November 8 – 24, 2013. All shows are Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 3 p.m.

Auditions will be held at the East Brunswick Community Arts Center, 721 Cranbury Road. The show will be directed by Mark Kalet with musical direction by Rory Chalcraft and choreography by Jaime Moritz.

Monty Python’s Spamalot is a musical comedy “lovingly ripped off from” the 1975 film Monty Python and the Holy Grail.

The director is looking for a multi-ethnic cast of 20-25; some roles may be cast without regard to gender; doubled roles may be split.

Those planning to audition should prepare 32 bars of a Broadway-style song (songs from the show are acceptable). You must bring sheet music for piano. No acapella.

All auditioners will be expected to participate in the dance audition.
