LINDEN – Police are searching for five men who stole almost $5,000 worth of phones and computers from the AT&T Store on West Edgar Road last week.

On Tuesday, July 9, five men entered the store at 3:32 p.m. and proceeded to pull out security cables to steal display devices without saying a word or displaying a weapon. The group walked out of the store three minutes later with two Samsung Galaxy S4 phones, a Samsung Galaxy notebook, an Apple iPhone 5, an Apple iPad Mini, two Motorola HTC One phones, and an LG Optimus Pro G phone. The total retail value of the devices is $4,789.92, authorities said.

Four employees working in the store said a female customer was asking questions when the group entered and left soon after the group did. Authorities believe she may have been part of the ring, there to distract the employees.

Police are asking anyone who may have information on this crime or was in the Aviation Plaza at the time of the incident and observed the group to contact Linden detective Travis Koziol at 908-474-8537 or via email at crimetips@police.lindenes-nj.org.
