ROSELLE — Mayor Jamel C. Holley and the Roselle Borough Council have designated the borough’s Anthony Amalfe Community Center as a cooling center, providing residents with relief during this heat wave.
The Amalfe Community Center, located at 1268 Shaffer Avenue, will be open every day between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Residents can enjoy cold water, television, board games and magazines in an air-conditioned setting. Borough youth and seniors are encouraged to stop by, as they can be vulnerable to high temperatures and humidity.
“This type of sustained heat wave can be dangerous for many our most vulnerable residents. We want to make sure all residents have a cool place to relax and escape the heat,” Holley said.
