Learn About The Secret Jewish Fleet At JCC Lecture

HIGHLAND PARK — The Jewish Community Center of Middlesex County will host a lecture by Bruce Tucker on Wednesday, July 24, at 1 p.m. at River Ridge, 30 South Adelaide Avenue in Highland Park.

Tucker will speak about the Secret Jewish Fleet, presenting the true story of a very secret rescue operation and a rag tag armada of 10 rusty transport ships and former Canadian warships that became makeshift rescue ships for refugees from the Holocaust. The effort involved many Jewish American veterans recently home from the war like Navy Lieutenant Paul Schulman as well as stars like Frank Sinatra and some notable New York gangsters.

All are welcome to attend. Refreshments will be served. Cost is $8 for JCC members; $10 for non-members.
