Union Library Announces Summer Children’s Programs

UNION – The Children’s Department of the Union Public Library has scheduled the following programs at the Main Library during the month of July:

  • The Preschool Storytime and Craft program for preschoolers and their caregivers will be held on Mondays, July 8, 15, 22 and 29 at 11 a.m. No registration required.
  • Come in your pajamas for songs, stories and games at Bedtime Storytime on Mondays, July 8, 15, 22 and 29 at 7 p.m. Children of all ages and their caregivers are invited to attend. No registration required.
  • “Dig into Reading” Film Festival on Fridays, July 12, 19 and 26. All films will be shown at 11 a.m. The Disney film, “Oliver and Company” will be shown on July 12; the film, “The Aristocats” will be shown on July 19; and the film, “The Rescuers” will be shown on July 26. Children of all ages and their caregivers are invited to attend. No registration required.
  • “Carnival Day at the Library” promises fun games on Tuesday, July 9 at 11:00am. This program is for children of all ages and their caregivers. No registration required.
  • Come and make “Decorative Sunglasses” at a School-Age Craft program on Wednesday, July 10, at 11 a.m. This program is for children in grades 1 through 6. No registration required.
  • The “Lizard Guys” Animal Show will appear at the library on Thursday, July 11th at 11 a.m. Children of all ages and their caregivers are invited to the show. No registration required.
  • The Union Public Library Lego Club for children, ages 5 through 12, will meet during the summer on Thursdays, July 11, 18 and 25 at 3:30 p.m. This is an opportunity for kids to get creative and build anything they choose. The library will provide the Legos, while the kids provide the imagination. All materials must stay at the library so bring your camera to document your creations. Caregivers are asked to stay in the library and are welcome to assist. No registration required.
  • On Tuesday, July 16, at 11 a.m., Magician Brian Richards entertains and astounds us with his magic. Children of all ages and their caregivers are invited to attend. No registration required.
  • Come and make a “Flying Fish Game” at a School-Age Craft program on Wednesday, July 17 at 11 a.m. This program is for children in grades 1 through 6. No registration required.
  • A Butterfly Party and Craft Program will be held on Thursday, July 18, at 11 a.m. Children of all ages and their caregivers are invited to attend. No registration required.
  • A Fun on a String Variety Puppet Show will be held on Tuesday, July 23, at 11 a.m. Children of all ages and their caregivers are invited to attend. No registration required.
  • Make a “Pterodactyl” at a School-Age Craft program on Wednesday, July 24th at 11 a.m. This program is for children in grades 1 through 6. No registration required.
  • A T-Shirt Decorating Workshop will be held on Thursday, July 25 that 11 a.m. CHILDREN MUST BRING THEIR OWN T-SHIRTS. This program is for children of all ages and their caregivers. No registration required.
  • Do you like to draw? Come to the Sidewalk Chalk Drawing Program on Tuesday, July 30, at 11 a.m. This program is for children of all ages and their caregivers. No registration required.
  • Come and make a “Dragon Mask” at a School-Age Craft program on Wednesday, July 31 at 11 a.m. This program is for children in grades 1 through 6. No registration required.

The Children’s Department of the Union Public Library has scheduled the following programs at the Vauxhall Branch during the month of July:

  • A “Beneath Your Feet” Summer Craft Program for school-age children and their caregivers will be held on Wednesday, July 10 at 2 p.m. Space is limited. Signup is required.
  • “Build It! JENGA Game Challenge” will be held on Friday, July 12 at 2 p.m. This program is for school-age children and their caregivers. Space is limited. Signup is required.
  • Dig into Reading with Magic Jim and his trusty sidekick, Mortimer as he performs his magic show on Tuesday, July 16 at 10:45 a.m. This program is for children of all ages and their caregivers. Space is limited. Signup is required.
  • Summer Vacation Afternoon Movie Matinee on Thursday, July 18th at 2 p.m. The film will be, “Rise of the Guardians”. Children of all ages and their caregivers are invited to attend. No registration required.
  • “Puzzle Me Friday: Fun and Games” for school-age children and their caregivers will be held on Friday, July 19 at 2 p.m. Space is limited. Signup is required.
  • “Just Dig It Games” Program for preschool children, ages 3 – 5, and their caregivers will be held on Tuesday, July 23 at 11 a.m. Space is limited. Signup is required.
  • Do you like to play Bingo? Go to the “In the Garden Bingo Program” on Thursday, July 25 at 2 p.m. This program is for school-age children and their caregivers. Space is limited. Signup is required.
  • Movie Matinee showing of the film, “Land Before Time: Invasion of the Tinysauruses”to be held on Tuesday, July 30, at 10:45 a.m. Children of all ages and their caregivers are invited to attend. No registration required.
