PERTH AMBOY — Police arrested a 29-year-old Matawan man on Sunday who allegedly burglarized a State Street home.

Manuel Lopez is charged with burglary and hindering apprehension, according to authorities.

Police responded to the home at 2:20 a.m. on June 30 to investigate a reported burglary in progress. They searched the area and found Lopez in a third-floor crawl space of a nearby home. Officer Alexy Mendez placed him under arrest after he was identified as the suspect.

Judge Emery Toth set bail at $50,000 with no 10 percent option.
