BRIDGEWATER – The Somerset County Park Commission has announced that the July 4th Family Festival and Fireworks Celebration, scheduled for Thursday, July 4, beginning at 5 p.m., will take place as planned at North Branch Park, Milltown Road, Bridgewater.
Due to the flooding from the recent rains, all parking has been moved to Raritan Valley Community College, Route 28 and Lamington Road in Branchburg. Free parking will be available in Lots 1 and 2. There will be no parking on site at North Branch Park.
Beginning at 4 p.m. ten shuttle buses will provide transportation to and from North Branch Park that will continue throughout the evening. Handicapped accessible buses will also be provided. The last bus is expected to leave the park and return to the college at midnight.
The entire schedule of entertainment and performances is expected to take place as planned, including a reenactment, children’s games and activities, plenty of food, and a sensational display of fireworks. Central New Jersey’s most spectacular fireworks display will begin at at 9:30 p.m.
Verdict will kick off the live stage performance at 6:30 p.m. with their rich blend of classic reggae, calypso, soca, and funk island music. Then it will be time to recapture the days of Boogie Fever and do The Hustle to all of the top Disco hits of the 70s when headliners Dancin’ Machine hit the stage at 8:30 p.m.
