BERKELEY HEIGHTS – The National Weather Service confirmed last night that a tornado formed in Berkeley Heights and moved through New Providence and Summit during Monday morning’s storm, according to TheAlternativePress.com.

Maximum winds were estimated at 85 mph, and the tornado traveled a 4.8 miles path from 9:17 a.m. until 9:25 a.m. No injuries were reported in Berkeley Heights, but at least seven homes were damaged by storm-felled trees in Summit, according to an NJ.com report.
