EAST RUTHERFORD— If you’re searching for a place to catch a great fireworks show this Fourth of July, State Fair Meadowlands is promising “the biggest and best” fireworks display on this side of the Hudson.
To make it easier to enjoy the fireworks and other State Fair attractions, NJ Transit will provide frequent shuttle buses to take train or bus riders from Secaucus Junction to and from the Meadowlands Fairgrounds, next to the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford on July 3 and 4. Shuttles will run from 6 p.m. to midnight on July 3 and from 4 p.m. to midnight on July 4.
“We want to make it as easy as possible for everyone to come and enjoy State Fair’s colorful, loud, and magnificent fireworks,” said Al Dorso, president of State Fair Meadowlands. “Secaucus Junction is just a 10-minute ride from New York Penn Station, Port Authority and Newark Penn Station, and a short trip from other cities and towns.”
Those traveling by car will also find parking available for just $4 on July 3 and 4.
The fair will be open from 6 p.m. to 1 a.m. on July 3 and from 2 p.m. to 1 a.m. on July 4. Fairgoers will be able to enjoy the fair before and after the fireworks show, which will take place at 10:30 p.m. Purchasing a hand stamp with admission allows for unlimited rides all day.
State Fair will be open through July 7. Regular fair hours are Monday through Thursday, 6 pm to midnight; Fridays 6 p.m. to 1 a.m.; Saturdays 2 p.m. to 1 a.m.; Sundays 2 p.m. to midnight.
