EDISON — The Wardlaw-Hartridge School held is 130th Commencement on Friday, June 14 in Plumeri Gym.

Forty-nine members of the Class of 2013 marched in, led by Max Hernandez-Webster of Edison and Billy Nolan of Colonia carrying the class flag. The program began with the Star Spangled Banner and a welcome from Rhona Eserner of Edison, Upper School Head.

Three students from the Class of 2013 made remarks – Stephanie Smyczek of Edison (The Past), Zach More of Scotch Plains (The Present) and Nolan (The Future). The 49 graduates received their diplomas after Susan Swenson of Plainfield, Director of College Counseling, announced their names. The seniors in the choir joined the alumni in the singing of the school song before the recessional.

Parents, families, friends, faculty and staff joined the graduates for a reception in the AP Room following the ceremony. A special message later appeared in the sky – “Congratulations W-H Class of 2013” – as a plane swirled over the campus with a surprise for the graduates.
