ROSELLE PARK – A popular 70-year-old borough resident died as a result of injuries suffered in an assault that followed a traffic dispute in Irvington last week, according to an NJ.com report.

Robert Sabio backed into a vehicle as he was leaving a parking space on June 12, triggering a dispute that led to the fatal assault, officials said.

He was taken to University Hospital in Newark, where he died from the blunt-force trauma two days later.

Essex County investigators are looking for witnesses who can identify the person who assaulted Sabio.  Anyone with information about the incident may call the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide and Major Crimes task force at 1-877-847-7432.
