Perth Amboy Adds Four Auxiliary Police Officers

PERTH AMBOY — Four new auxiliary police officers have joined the ranks of the Perth Amboy Police Department, officials announced today.

The new officers, who graduated from the Middlesex County Police Auxiliary Academy on June 12, are:

  • Thomas Fazio, who was born in Perth Amboy in 1990 and moved to Old Bridge shortly after. He moved back to the city last year and is currently enrolled at Middlesex County College where he is studying Police Science. Fazio hopes to become a full-time police officer.  His parents, Gina and Rosario Fazio, own a business in Perth Amboy.
  • William Perez was a junior volunteer for Raritan Bay Medical Center for five years before he enlisted in the military. He is now a member of the Army National Guard 508th Military Police Company.
  • Allan Taveras was born and raised in Perth Amboy and graduated from Perth Amboy High School in 2012. Shortly after he became interested in pursuing a career in law enforcement and decided to join the auxiliary police to help his community and gain the experience needed in achieving his goal of becoming a full-time police officer.
  • Giennis Polanco was born to Ricardo and Mercedes Polanco in the Dominican Republic and came to Perth Amboy in 1994 where she attended Perth Amboy Public Schools from kindergarten through high school. She earned an undergraduate degree in criminal justice from Berkeley College.
