Jersey firm keeps military afloat

TRENTON – A New Jersey company has been awarded a $6.5 million contract for life preserver vests.

Switlik Parachute Company Inc. in Trenton, has been awarded a maximum $6.5 million contract (SPE8EG-13-D-0021) with four one-year renewal options for life preserver vests to be used by the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marine Corps.

The contracting agency is the Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support, which is headquartered in Philadelphia.

Switlik has been a family owned and operated business for four generations and is known worldwide as a manufacturer of the highest quality sewn and heat sealed inflatable safety and survival products for the aviation, marine, and military/government markets.

All of the company’s equipment is manufactured at an 85,000 sq. ft facility located in Trenton. Among its products are a wide variety of anti-exposure and anti-g suits, inflatable life rafts, inflatable life vests, inflation systems and other specialty textile-based military equipment
