Linden Police Investigate Reports Of Shots Fired

LINDEN — Police are investigating two separate reports of shots fired on Wednesday night.

The first incident was reported at 9:15 p.m. in the vicinity of East Henry and McCandless streets, but investigating officers were unable to locate anything in the area.

At 11:15 p.m. on June 12, officers responded to the 1100 block of Passaic Avenue to investigate another report of shots fired. Police were told that a group of people on the street scattered after three shots were heard. Officers stopped a car leaving the area without headlights but soon determined that it had nothing to do with the incident.

A woman who lives on the second floor of a residence on the 1100 block called police and told them she found a bullet in a bedroom of her house. Officers later found two additional holes in the aluminum siding in the front of the house.
