ROSELLE — Rita’s Italian Ice Roselle store owners Kerece, Ameer and Malakatu Saleem conducted a fundraiser at their store this week to benefit afterschool educational enhancement programs at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Union County.
A percentage of all sales on June 12 were donated to the organization. Many local residents also provided additional financial support while visiting the store located at 108 Chestnut Street in Roselle.
“We are touched by the generosity of the owners of the Roselle franchise and the Rita’s Italian Ice family for this donation on behalf of our boys and girls,” said Russell Triolo, Chief Executive Officer for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Union County.
Triolo continued, “We are always seeking the support of additional local businesses who would like to conduct a cause related marketing fundraiser for the benefit of the children we serve at our organization”.
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Union County, which operates facilities in Union, Roselle, Plainfield, Elizabeth and Hillside, serves over 7,500 children. They seek to inspire and enable young people, who need them most, to realize their full potential and have provided opportunity for youth since 1955.
