Orellana Wins Art Contest Award

PERTH AMBOY — Erika Orellana, an eighth grade student at Perth Amboy Catholic School, was selected from among thousands of entries as a winner in the 2012-2013 Christmas Artwork Award Contest of the Missionary Childhood Association (MCA).

Her winning artwork will be featured on the children’s website (www.MCAKids.org) as an “E-greeting” for Christmas 2013. In addition, her artwork will be displayed at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, D.C., on Friday Dec.  6.

Orellana, her parents and her art teacher, Rose Lavin-Pennyfeather, will be attending the award ceremony in Washington, D.C., where she will receive a plaque honoring her for her achievement.
