RAHWAY — Arts Guild New Jersey will present a second screening of Animated Films Night on Saturday, June 29, beginning at 7 p.m. at the Rahway Senior Center.

Films from this program were created by residents of New Jersey, New York, Wisconsin, Canada, Mexico and the Philippines. Many are works of students from the Vancouver Film School, the School of Visual Arts (NYC), Milwaukee Film League and other notable institutions in the USA and abroad.

In the realm of contemporary animated films anything is possible and filmmakers and artists are creating a wide and diverse range of pieces ranging from the comedic to social commentary to the surreal and beyond. Animated characters have become a staple of modern pop culture and dozens of new animated films are produced by major studios each year. The “SpokesPeople” for many of the products on the market today are animated characters. Cable TV has several channels devoted entirely to “cartoons” and people young and old alike are familiar with many of the major characters in cartoons and animated films today.

Admission for the program is $5. It features the same animations by over 20 filmmakers that were screened at Arts Guild New Jersey in May. The Rahway Senior Center is located at 1306 Esterbrook Avenue, Rahway. For information contact Arts Guild New Jersey at 732-381-7511 or
