CLARK – Student athletes received more than 110 varsity letters on Thursday, June 6, as the Arthur L. Johnson Athletic Department held their 2013 Spring Athletic Awards. The evening, sponsored by the Crusader Athletic Booster Club, was held in the Arthur L. Johnson auditorium.

All the spring athletic teams and their seasons were highlighted by their coaches, who presented the letters and awards.

Principal Rick Delmonaco presented the Student Athlete Award to Patricia Bailey. This award honors a student athlete who is not only a champion on the field, but in the classroom as well.

Team MVP Awards were presented to the following students:  Baseball – John Stauffer, Golf – David Berry, Lacrosse – Sean Myers, Softball – Jamie Cheeka, Tennis – James Douglas, Boys’ Spring Track & Field – Michael Vieira, Girls’ Spring Track & Field – Cristina DeCristofaro.

“The Spring Sports Awards was a wonderful event that allowed the administration, teachers, coaches, parents, and student athletes a chance to reflect on a wonderful spring sports season while honoring our student athletes for their remarkable accomplishments,” said Gus Kalikas, Supervisor of Athletics, Health, and Physical Education. “Our teams, coaches, and student athletes continue to raise the bar both in the classrooms and on the athletic fields and the Clark School District could not be more proud of their performance this past spring sports season.”
