RAHWAY – A Rahway City Council member says state Sen. Raymond Lesniak should be the next New Jersey State Democratic Party chairman.
“This is a crucial year and a critical election cycle (in 2013) and the New Jersey Democratic State Party needs a leader who will unify and lead Democrats to Victory in November, from the top of the slate all the way down to the bottom,” said Rahway Democratic Councilman Bob Bresenhan in a press release. “I believe Raymond J. Lesniak is that one individual who can accomplish this task.”
“Ray Lesniak is a visionary, a leader and a fighter who has brought great improvements to the everyday quality of life for New Jersey citizens from every walk of life,” Bresenhan said. “Senator Lesniak has stood on the forefront and fought for New Jersey’s middle class and those less fortunate. Ray has been in-step in the fight for equality for women, African-Americans, Latinos, Asian Americans and other minority ethnic groups, as well as leading the fight for marriage equality across New Jersey.”
In closing he said, “I appeal to the Democratic County Chairs across New Jersey to unite as they come together in the upcoming weeks to elect a new Chair and unanimously support Ray Lesniak.”
