39-Year-Old Perth Amboy Man Arrested On Drug Charges

PERTH AMBOY – Police arrested a 39-year-old city man last week who allegedly possessed heroin with a street value of $1,000 following a motor vehicle stop.

On Friday, May 17, members of the Perth Amboy Police Department’s Special Investigations Bureau arrested Osvaldo Perez, who was charged with possession of heroin and possession of heroin with the intent to distribute. Judge Maria Del Valle-Koch set bail at $50,000 with no 10% option and with the requirement of a bail source hearing.

A passenger in the vehicle, Ruben Rivera, 43 of  New Brunswick, was also placed under arrest for possession of narcotic paraphernalia.

Detective Mabner Terron led the investigation.

The charges are merely accusations and the defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
