PERTH AMBOY — Police arrested three city men earlier this month who allegedly stole tire rims off a vehicle parked on Harned Street.

Raul Leon, 20, Mark Luna, 18, and Emmanuel Jaquez, 26 were charged with theft, conspiracy, and receiving stolen property.

At 2:43 a.m. on May 8, Officer Brandon Bucior was dispatched to the area of Harned Street on a report of a vehicle break in, where three men were seen taking rims off a dark colored Honda Civic. They got into a silver colored Acura TL and left the area.

A silver Acura TL was located nearby and police observed a vehicle jack and a tire with a chrome rim in the rear passenger seat area. Leon, Luna and later Jaquez were taken into custody. Police recovered a car jack, a tool box and the four tires with chrome rims. Detective Jessica DeJesus lead the investigation.

Judge Emery Toth set the defendants’ bail at $2,500 with no 10% option each. Luna also had an outstanding contempt of court warrant out of the City of Perth Amboy in the amount of $120.

The charges against the defendants are merely accusations; they are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
