LINDEN — Linden Public School District Director of Health, Physical Education, Athletics, Safety & Medical Services Steve Yesinko was recently elected as president of the Union County County Conference (UCC) through June 2015. As president, Yesinko will call conference meetings, preside over them and give guidance and direction to appointed committees.
The Union County Conference provides athletic competition to member schools, encouraging the highest levels of sportsmanship at all times, while attempting to develop the physical, mental and social health of participants through athletic competition abiding to the Constitution and By-Laws of the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association (NJSIAA).
Besides performing his district duties, Yesinko is active in his profession, serving on the Board of Trustees of the Directors of Athletics Association of New Jersey (DAANJ) as the Union County representative. He also is a member of the NJSIAA Executive Committee, where he also sits on the Program Review Committee and the Policy Committee. As a 15 year member of the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (NIAAA) Yesinko earned the title of Certified Athletic Administrator (CAA) by attaining high levels of proficiency in athletic administration through substantial experience and superior examination performance.
