CLARK — The Union County Homicide Task Force and the Clark Police Department are investigating the death of a township man on Monday afternoon, Union County Prosecutor Theodore J. Romankow announced yesterday.
Joseph Galfy of Starlite Drive was found unresponsive in his home around 2 p.m. on Monday. Officers were called to the home for a welfare check and discovered the victim, according to Romankow.
It had been considered a “suspicious death” until late Tuesday afternoon when the Union County Medical Examiner concluded an autopsy and determined that Galfy died as a result of blunt force trauma.
Authorities are asking anyone with information regarding the homicide to contact Union County Crime Stoppers. A reward of up to $5,000 is being offered to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and indictment of a suspect or suspects in the death of Mr. Galfy. Crime Stoppers may be reached at 908-654-TIPS or www.uctip.org.
