EDISON – News 12 New Jersey today announced that it will partner with Jenkinson’s in Point Pleasant Beach to present “Rock ’N’ Recovery,” a Hurricane Sandy concert fundraiser on Thursday, May 16 at 7 p.m. Admission proceeds will benefit The Hurricane Sandy New Jersey Relief Fund, which is chaired by First Lady of New Jersey Mary Pat Christie, and the concert will feature Brian Kirk & The Jirks, the premier cover band down the shore and across the state.
“Hurricane Sandy brought unthinkable devastation to New Jersey, especially along our treasured Jersey Shore,” said Christie. “Thanks to News 12 NJ, Jenkinson’s and Brian Kirk & The Jirks, this ‘Rock ’N’ Recovery’ concert will support the tens of thousands still in need, but also demonstrate that New Jersey is ready for our busy summer season. We’re encouraging everyone to come out, see the show and join the tens of thousands of donors from across the globe who are helping in this effort to rebuild New Jersey better and stronger.”
“It will be a great night for a great cause,” said Randal W. Stanley, General Manager and News Director for News 12 New Jersey. “Nothing says summer in New Jersey like going to Jenkinson’s to see Brian Kirk & The Jirks. And while this season will be a difficult one for the many people around our state still trying to recover from Sandy, this concert is just one more way News 12 can help out our friends and neighbors in New Jersey who are still struggling to get back to normal.”
“Jenkinson’s is delighted to work with News 12 New Jersey, Brian Kirk and The Hurricane Sandy New Jersey Relief Fund,” said Toby Wolf, Director of Marketing for Jenkinson’s Boardwalk. “Hosting this concert is an honor and we hope that everyone who attends has a great time at the event. We know firsthand what a long, difficult winter it has been. Although there is so much work left to do, it’s time to take a night off to enjoy a great show!”
“As a lifelong resident of the Jersey shore, it’s very difficult to see Jersey shore communities go through such difficult times due to Hurricane Sandy,” said the bandleader Brian Kirk. “Brian Kirk & The Jirks are doing all we can to help and we hope you can join us for this event.”
Doors open on May 16 at 7 p.m. and the music starts at 8:30 p.m. Admission is $20 cash or check at the door – there are no advance sales. One hundred percent of ticket sales will benefit The Hurricane Sandy New Jersey Relief Fund.
