PISCATAWAY — Several praise bands from across New Jersey will perform in a free benefit concert to fight hunger on Saturday, May 18, in Piscataway. The “Musicfest of Praise” will take place from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on the lawn of Christ United Methodist Church.
Praise music lovers are encouraged to come to the event with lawn chairs, blankets and non-perishable food items, which will be collected and donated to three area food pantries: Fish Inc. in Piscataway, Elijah’s Promise in New Brunswick and CUMAC in Paterson.
The event will feature The Big Fish Praise Band of Bloomsbury, JCM of South River, Divine Mercy of Rahway and Messiah’s Quest of Piscataway. Other bands also will appear, and refreshments will be served.
Christ United Methodist Church also planned to host a Regional Conference on Hunger Injustice on May 18. However, due to a health issue involving the keynote speaker, Christ United Methodist Church is postponing that event.
For more information on these events, call the church at 1-732-463-1517.
