METUCHEN — From May 6-8, the eighth grade students of Edgar Middle School in conjunction with the Metuchen YMCA participated in Health Fest 2013. Throughout this three day period, the students were exposed to various physical activities that included zumba, spin, indoor soccer, pool volleyball, and body pump training classes. Other non-physical activities included a nutrition seminar, internet scavenger hunt, and a team building activity in which the students had to build a tower out of marshmallows and macaroni that could support an egg. These activities served to broaden the students’ physical and mental health as well as their nutritional horizons in a fun and exciting atmosphere. (Photo courtesy of Metuchen Public Schools)
