Arts Guild NJ Screens Short Animated Films On May 11

RAHWAY Arts Guild New Jersey will present an evening of new short animated films on Saturday, May 11 beginning at 7 p.m. Admission for the program is $5. Works by over 20 filmmakers will be screened.

The films from this program were created by residents of New Jersey, New York, Wisconsin, Canada, Mexico and the Philippines. Many are works of students from the Vancouver Film School, the School of Visual Arts (NYC), Milwaukee Film League and other notable institutions in the USA and abroad.

Selected artists include: Jeffrey William Chin, Beatrice Ciampi, Salomon Duarte Granados, Kenny Harris, Sal Iaccarino, Svetlana Kandkhorova, Eric Kerke, Vera Kobelkowsky, Vishnu Kotha, Vernon Manlapaz, Lila Martinez, Brian McCormack, Cecilia Potenza, Jose Ramirez, Emily Ramos, William Sokoloski, Linda Stein, Meriah Stills, Tom Weber, and Stephne Wood.

In the realm of contemporary animated films anything is possible and filmmakers and artists are creating a wide and diverse range of pieces ranging from the comedic to social commentary to the surreal and beyond. Animated characters have become a staple of modern pop culture and dozens of new animated films are produced by major studios each year.
