WATCHUNG – Mount Saint Mary Academy senior Renee Parisi of South Plainfield was honored with the Caring Award from the Middlesex County Guidance Council on May 3.

Parisi was chosen based on the numerous community service endeavors of which she is a part. Her efforts include raising funds and awareness for the hungry, serving as a Sunday school and Safety Town instructor, and spending time assisting the elderly. Parisi also serves as a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity and participates in annual trips throughout the country in an effort to rebuild and restore homes.

“Renee is a selfless individual who demonstrates a true willingness to give back to the community and finds much joy in doing so,” said her guidance counselor, Sofia Santos.

Parisi was nominated by the Mount’s Office of Student Services Director Patricia Bixel, Secretary of the Middlesex County Guidance Council Association.
