LINDEN – State Sen. Nicholas P. Scutari recently spoke to a group of Scouts at the 68th Annual Linden Scouts in Government Day about the importance of civic involvement and community service.
“As an Eagle Scout I experienced the impact Scouting and similar activities can have on developing skills and attitudes which benefit New Jersey communities. I am encouraged that the current generation recognizes the necessity of citizen involvement and the importance of community service and was honored to speak with them during the annual Scouts in Government Day,” said Scutari (D-Union County.)
The event was held at the John T. Gregario Recreation Center, where boy scouts and girl scouts met with area officials prior to the official ceremony that took place at the Linden Council Chambers at City Hall.
“The leadership skills the Scouts are developing as part of these organizations will serve as a strong foundation for their futures, whether they decide to work in the community, in our educational institutions, in business or in government,” said Scutari. “I commend them for their dedication and commitment to scouting and for their hard work.”
