JCC Announces Trips, Events For May

EDISON – The Jewish Community Center of Middlesex County will offer a variety of trips and events in May.

“A Virtual Tour of Jewish New York” as presented by Marty Schneit, certified NY Tour guide will take place on Tuesday, May 14, at 10:30 a.m. at the Jewish Community Center of Middlesex County, 1775 Oak Tree Road, Edison. Jim DelGuidice, New Jersey photographer, will present “Gotcha” a lecture that looks at photographs that changed history by accident. On Tuesday, May 14 at 1:30 p.m., Mr. DelGuidice will show images and examine them within historical context. On Tuesday, May 21, “Spring Into Summer” at an indoor BBQ at the JCC of Middlesex County, 1775 Oak Tree Road, Edison. A BBQ chicken lunch will be enjoyed at noon followed by musical entertainment with Neil Dankman. Get in the mood for summer! THREE JEWISH HEROES. Bruce Tucker will explore why three ordinary people, David S. Frank, Marcus Spiegel and Paul Shulman, can be considered true Jewish American heroes. The actions taken by these three individuals, who lived in very different times and demonstrated shared Jewish values, can and should be remembered today. Offered on Tuesday, May 28 at 10:30am at the JCC of Middlesex County, 1775 Oak Tree Road, Edison, the cost is $11/$8 for Community Campus Members. Thomas Elefant, Orchestral Conductor and Music Educator, will present “MAESTRO”, on Tuesday, May 28 at 1:30pm at the JCC of Middlesex County, 1775 Oak Tree Road, Edison. Participants will learn about the various functions of the “Maestro” while observing, on screen, the world’s greatest conductors such as Toscanini, Herbert von Karajan and others. The cost is $11/ $8 for Community Campus Members.

DUPLICATE BRIDGE is held every Wednesday from 1:00-4:00pm at the Jewish Community Center of Middlesex County, Edison. Directed by Al Steinberger, you are welcome to come by yourself or with a partner. The fee is $8 or $6 for Community Campus members. Coffee and cookies are provided. ATLANTIC CITY TRIPS
Whether you like to play the slots, sit at the blackjack tables or stroll on the boardwalk, a fun-filled day awaits on Monday, May 20, 2013. The bus leaves the Community Campus, 1775 Oak Tree Road, Edison, at 8:45am, travels to Showboat Casino and leaves Atlantic City at 5pm. The cost is $27/person and entitles you to a Casino Bonus. All those 18 years of age or older are welcome. Advance registration is recommended and choice of bus seat is made at time of payment.
