Linden Police Seek Liquor Store Robbery Suspects

LINDEN – Police are searching for two suspects in the April 17 robbery of South Wood Liquors on South Wood Avenue and have released two surveillance photos.

The robbery occurred at 9:40 p.m.; the two men waited for a customer to leave before entering the store. One robber pulled out a silver automatic handgun and pointed it at the clerk, then demanded cash. Two clerks had their hands bound with plastic zip ties, but were otherwise uninjured according to police.

The first suspect had a black-hooded sweatshirt and was carrying a backpack. The second suspect is seen in the photo carrying a red pack under his right arm. The two men, who appear to be dark-skinned in their late teens or early twenties, took cash, cigarettes, and a clerk’s wallet, which contained cash and credit cards.

Police are asking anyone with information on this crime to contact Linden Detective Ken Mikolajczyk at 908-474-8542.
