CRANFORD — Ryan McGann, a Saint Peter’s Prep senior from Cranford, was recently awarded his Eagle Scout rank.

McGann’s Eagle Scout Service Project was titled “St. Michael’s and Theresa Youth Ministry Room Renovation,” assisting the Youth Ministry Program of which he is a member. This program operates out of his home parish in Cranford. St. Michael’s and Theresa Youth Ministry provides Catholic Ministry to over 200 teens from the surrounding area.

McGann led his fellow scouts and youth ministry members as they improved the meeting space of a growing program. He led the team as they painted, added new shades, cleaned out the rooms, added new furniture, created a mosaic, and modernized the technology.

Ryan, the son of Jennifer and Ronald McGann and a graduate of Saint Michael’s School, is a consistent Honor Roll student at Saint Peter’s and is captain of the Cross Country and Indoor and Outdoor Track Teams at Prep. He is also active in Admissions work, often assisting at Open Houses and High School nights. McGann will attend Fordham University in the fall.
