EAST RUTHERFORD – State Fair Meadowlands is making it easier this year to come to the June 21 – July 7 event, by offering free weekend shuttle buses from Secaucus Junction, a NJ Transit hub. The frequent (private) shuttle buses will take NJ Transit train or bus riders from Secaucus station to and from the Meadowlands Fairgrounds, next to the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, every weekend the fair is open, and also on July 3 and 4.
“We want to make it as easy as possible for everyone – not just those with cars – to come and enjoy State Fair’s thrilling rides, live animal shows, hilarious entertainers and acres and acres of delicious food,” said Al Dorso, president of State Fair Meadowlands. “Secaucus Junction is just a 10-minute ride from New York Penn Station, Port Authority and Newark Penn Station, and a short trip from other cities and towns.”
Families in New York and New Jersey can take advantage of NJ Transit’s rates and free rides for children under 12 who are accompanied by a parent. For each adult fare, two children can ride free on weekends (for further information about fares and schedules, visit www.njtransit.com or call 973-275-5555).
