LINDEN – Police arrested six suspects and seized firearms and drugs following a Wednesday afternoon raid on an East Elizabeth Avenue auto repair business.
Members of the Linden Police Narcotics Squad raided the Gifted Hands Auto Repair Business at 2 p.m. on April 24, with the assistance of Linden police uniformed officers and the Roselle Police Narcotics Squad. The officers seized 310 folds of heroin, valued at $3,100; two handguns, a .22 caliber revolver and a Smith & Wesson .357 caliber with a defaced serial number, which were both loaded; $3,400 in cash and a small amount of marijuana.
John D. Robinson, 58, and Erwin Herrera, 34, both of Linden; Darnell Dixon, 48, and Vernon Robinson, 32, both of Roselle; and James Palmer, 33, and Dwayne Hill, 54, both of Roselle Park, were arrested and charged with possession of a defaced firearm, possession of a firearm while committing a CDS offense, distribution of heroin, and distribution within 1,000 feet of Public School # 4. Hill and Herrera were additionally charged with certain persons not to possess weapons. Palmer was also charged with contempt warrants out of Roselle, Springfield, and Old Bridge Twp.
Each defendant was held in lieu of $50,000 cash bail pending a county court date.
The charges against the suspects are merely accusations; they are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
