Newark Police Holding Gun Buyback Event This Weekend

NEWARK — The Newark Police Department is holding a gun amnesty/buyback event this weekend at 104 Arlington Street, Newark. From 8 a.m.-8 p.m. on April 27 and 28, residents can anonymously turn in firearms and receive cash payment between $50 and $250 per gun for up to three weapons.

Assault weapons are valued at $250; revolvers, semi-automatic weapons, shotguns and rifles are valued at $150, and inoperable weapons will still net $50.

The event is being sponsored by Jewelry For A Cause.
