WOODBRIDGE — Football season  may be over for the NFL but it’s just getting started at the Woodbridge Y. This year marks the first year of Flag Football for the YMCA of MEWSA association.

Teams from the Metuchen, South Amboy and Woodbridge branches compete on a weekly basis under the supervision of coaches and Y volunteers. The purpose of the Flag Football program is to teach children the importance of teamwork and sportsmanship all while having some spring fun. Both Woodbridge YMCA teams, the Browns and the Cardinals, won their first games this past Sunday, April 7.
