PERTH AMBOY — Police arrested three suspects for burglary at the site of a fire on the 600 block of West Side Avenue early Tuesday morning, according to authorities.

Officers were dispatched to the site to investigate a report of a burglary in progress at 1:17 a.m. on April 2. Police met the victim, who had found three people in his residence. Following an investigation, police arrested two adults and one juvenile suspect.

Polfirio Tineo and Geraldys Batista were both charged with burglary, receiving stolen property and possession of burglary tools.  Judge Maria Del Valle-Koch set bail at $25,000 with no 10 percent option for each suspect. The 17-year-old juvenile suspect  was released to his mother.

The charges against the defendants are merely accusations; they are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
