SCOTCH PLAINS — On Easter Sunday Oasis-Church-NJ.com, only a two-year-old church, attracted over 700 people from all over the metro area at its two sites located at Snuffy’s Pantagis Renaissance, 250 Park Avenue in Scotch Plains, and the Regal Hadley Cinema Movie Theater at 1000 Corporate Court in South Plainfield. Many families came to enjoy services and a chance to get their kids a picture with the Easter Bunny.
Easter marked the very first time the church met in two locations. Oasis is a multicultural, family friendly Christian church known for its contemporary band and relevant messages from the Bible people can use in everyday life. According to David Butler, Oasis Lead Pastor, “we want God and His word to become real in folks’ lives. We know there is a hunger deep inside to know God better. I mean just take a look at the popularity of the Bible Series on the History Channel. People are tuning in because they really want to know about Him and what difference He can make in their everyday existence. They want relevancy.”
Butler, a former New Jersey Family Court Mediator, went on to say, “That’s why beginning April 7, Oasis is starting a six week marriage and relationships series on what the Bible has to say about how to enjoy a thriving, lasting relationship. There is no need to RSVP for this series, as people can just show up at our Snuffy’s location.”
The church currently meets Sundays 10:30 a.m. at the Scotch Plains locale, and monthly at the Regal Hadley Cinema Theater Stadium (May 5, June 2, June 30, July 28 and Aug. 25) heading up to weekly launch on Sept. 15. The next service at the Regal Hadley Cinema Movie Theater will be Sunday, May 5 at 10a.m. For more information visit www.Oasis-Church-NJ.com.
