STATE — Tonight’s Powerball lottery jackpot is worth an estimated $320 million, or $198.3 million if the winner chooses the lump-sum cash payout option.
No one won the top prize in Wednesday’s drawing, but four New Jersey Lottery players did match four numbers plus the red Power Ball to win the $10,000 third prize. Those winning tickets were sold at Garden State News in Fort Lee; Verona Exxon in Verona; Luigi Deli & Meat Market in South Toms River; and Union Food Store in Totowa.
In addition, 97,259 other New Jersey Lottery players took home an estimated $537,842 in prizes ranging from $4 to $200, according to New Jersey Lottery Executive Director Carole Hedinger.
The winning numbers for Wednesday, March 20, were 13, 14, 17, 43 and 54. The red Power Ball number was 15.
No one has won the game’s top prize since a Richmond, Va. retailer sold a ticket for the $217 million jackpot in the Feb. 6 drawing. Since Feb. 9, this jackpot has rolled over 12 times and generated more than $13 million in financial contribution to New Jersey in support of institutions and educational programs, according to state Lottery officials.
Powerball drawings are held on Wednesday and Saturday nights at 11 p.m. They are shown live on the New Jersey Lottery’s website, NJLottery.net, and on CBS digital stations WLNY 10/55 and CW Philly 57.
The odds of winning the Powerball jackpot are 1 in 175,223,510; the odds of winning a prize are 1 in 31.85.
