RAHWAY — Paper Mill Playhouse recently announced that those selected to its new Broadway Show Choir, a “tuition-free, audition-based, performance show choir” include Rahway High School junior Shanice Scales-Williams and sophomore Dion Grier. This choir of singer/dancers aged 16 to 22 will receive instruction from professionals and then will perform in the community at numerous events, culminating in opening Paper Mill’s Rising Star Awards.

For two students to be chosen from one high school is a testimony to the strength of the Rahway Arts program, which was recognized by the New Jersey Department of Education, the New Jersey State Council on the Arts, and the New Jersey Arts Education Partnership as a “Model School of the School of the Arts” – one of only 19 schools in the entire State of New Jersey – due to its exemplary programs offered in all four arts disciplines: dance, music, theatre, and the visual arts.
