MIDDLESEX COUNTY – East Brunswick Councilwoman Nancy Pinkin won the Middlesex County Democratic Committee’s backing to run for a General Assembly seat representing the 18th Legislative District last night, according to a PolitickerNJ.com report.
Pinkin will run with state Senate candidate Assemblyman Peter Barnes and Assemblyman Patrick Diegnan. The opening was created by state Sen. Barbara Buono’s decision to run for governor.
Edison Councilman Robert Karabinchak and Highland Park Councilwoman Gayle Brill Mittler also sought the committee’s endorsement to run for the Assembly seat.
The 18th Legislative District includes East Brunswick, Edison, Helmetta, Metuchen, South Plainfield, South River and Spotswood.
