Linden Could Lay Off Cops & Firefighters To Close Budget Gap

LINDEN – Nearly two dozen city police officers and 30 firefighters could lose their jobs to help Linden close a $5 million budget gap, according to a report by News 12 New Jersey.

If police and other city employees agree to salary reductions and benefit givebacks, the proposed layoffs could be avoided, according to city officials.
